As one who has been prone to cellulite since I can remember, I have searched high and low for the best way to reduce cellulite over the years. WHAT IS CELLULITE AND HOW DOES ONE GET IT?
So lightly defined, cellulite is when underlying fat deposits are pushed through the skin, giving it the dimpled and lumpy appearance.
Women are prone to be affected by cellulite than are men. While my cellulite chooses to sit on my butt and thighs, it can in other cases show up on the arms, and the abdomen.
Genetics and hormones play a major role as to who gets affected by cellulite (My mum had cellulite and that is where my story begins or should I say battle begins).
People with low body fat can and have cellulite, so it is not really a ‘you have cellulite because you are fat’ kind of thing.

Dry skin brushing is just that- you have to brush your dry skin. All you need for this remedy is a medium sized non-synthetic brush and you will be good to go.
Simply massage the brush into the areas where you have cellulite, using a circular motion for 5 – 10 minutes. Do not use the brush on broken skin or areas where you have varicose veins. Dry brush frequently, preferably twice a day, just before your bath. If you do this consistently, you should see start seeing the reduction of cellulite in less than 2 weeks even.

2. Cut Down on Sugar, Dairy, and Bread
My cellulite dramatically flares up when I consume bread, dairy and a lot of processed sugar. My thighs look like a block of cottage cheese when I over consume these three foods. Cutting out or down on dairy, processed sugar and bread hugely reduces the appearance of cellulite on my legs and butt.
Nutrition really does matter when it comes to combating cellulite. But because I am a sugar addict, I constantly battle with cellulite and dry skin brushing works best for me.
3. How to Reduce the Appearance of Cellulite by Weight Training
There are so many fears by women that lifting weight will make them look bulky, but that is not true at all. Weight training reduces body fat percentage and increases muscle mass. Since cellulite is fat deposits that are unevenly distributed, strength training has played a major part in decreasing the appearance of my cellulite. When I follow training routines that target legs twice a week, I see excellent results after 4-6 weeks. Exercises such as squats, lunges, and deadlifts are the best when it comes to toning the troubled areas on the legs.

If you are carrying extra weight, losing weight (fat loss) will go a long way in reducing the cellulite. As you workout regularly and burn fat, the fat deposits will begin to shrink, making cellulite less visible.
