Workout playlist: 21 Songs to Get You Pumped for Your Next Workout Session

There are days and times when motivation to workout just pours down from exercise-ville like there is no tomorrow. Then there are times and days when you feel like you need binoculars to find the motivation to workout. This is called life. It happens to most of us and on days when the workout motivation is hard to find, you have to have an insane workout playlist.

Quite often I find that when I have a pumping workout playlist, it does wonders for my strength and mood. The only thing that does bring me down while listening to these sounds is someone in the gym trying to strike up a conversation when they can clearly see that I am in the ‘no talking zone’. Don’t you just find people who want to talk when you have headphones on in the gym annoying? Well, I do.

Speaking of headphones, you have to have the best there is so that you enjoy the beat to the max whether you are pounding the road, pumping iron or running on the treadmill.

These two pairs are my absolute faves when it comes to delivering quality sound to my ears, and at available on Amazon.

  1. Beats Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones

2. Jaybird X3 Sport Bluetooth Headset

  • I have only heard of about half of these songs. I need to hit up Youtube to check the rest out today so I can add some to my playlist.

  • I tend to like different genres for different workouts. For cardio/running I like pop or dance, for lifting in the gym I like rap/metal. Lifting I like: Eminem, rob bailey, disturbed, seether, skillet.

  • I haven’t heard most of them but I am going to explore these. Heading to the gym in the next hour and I am excited to check out some of these songs

  • Your list is waaaaay different than mine! I am really into 70s rock and that gets my heart pumping! Takin’ Care of Business is one of my faves.

  • I haven’t heard of hardly any of these songs haha. I wonder if that makes me old? I’ll have to youtube a few and give them a go! Always on the hunt for new workout music for sure.

  • I love sail! It is definitely a workout song for me!! So many good choices here. My current workout song is To Be Human (feat. Labrinth by Sia. Totally from wonder woman and who doesn’t want to be channelling their inner wonder women when working out.

  • Depending on what I’m doing for the day depends on my playlist. Jogging, I tend to like rap from the 90’s. Anything else I am digging the Trolls soundtrack right now.

  • This is a great list! I love Timber, only because it brings me back to the pre-baby days and pushes me to strive for that pre-baby body hahahaha 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  • I love the variations of songs! It’s nice seeing what people have on their workout playlist. I sometimes add more songs to mine if I like it. These are very motivating.

  • You have a great list to keep you motivated. I need to find that right song to get me motivated. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  • I tend to workout watching TV or using a DVD or online program so I don’t have a workout list. I used to carefully craft one when I was a member of the gym. One of my favorites was Girl Talk. I love his albums because they were already a mix tape style of music. Since it was created by a DJ everything flowed perfectly and kept me motivated.

  • This looks like a great playlist. I don’t really have a favorite workout song. I kind of just play whatever when I work out.

  • What a list. Next time I head downstairs to my treadmill I’ll have to get these songs and create a playlist.

  • I have to be honest and admit that I only know a handful of these songs, but I can definitely see why they get you in the mood for a workout. They’re fab!!
